Smara Nama Sahasram – Part 2
With the immense grace of our Guru Maharaj, HH Maharanyam Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji, and the divine couple, Sri Madhuri Sakhi Sametha Premika Varadan, Global Organization for Divinity successfully conducted the second part of the global Vishnu Sahasranamam quiz series – “Smara Nama Sahasram”. This quiz covered the second shatakam from the 104th to 197th Naama from Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam and was based on the YouTube series “Every Day with Nama” presented by Sri Poornimaji, disciple of HH Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji. The primary aim of this event was to enable devotees worldwide to celebrate Bhagavan and His divine names through learning and appreciating the meanings of the beautiful divine names from Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam.
The quiz was organized into two distinct stages:
Part I: The Preliminary Round, covering Naama 104 to 162 (Sloka #12 to #17)
Part II: The Finals, covering Naama 104 to 197 (Sloka #12 to #21)
The preliminary round took place in September 2024, for which about 54 teams from several countries around the world had registered. This effort culminated in 8 teams advancing to the finals. The final round took place on February 15th, 2025, featuring 8 teams – 4 from India and 4 from USA.
The Part 2 Finals event on Feb 15, 2025 commenced with a Nama prayer, followed by a concise and impactful introductory talk by Sri MK Ramanujam ji, which effectively established the tone for the occasion. The participating teams excelled in all five rounds, demonstrating extraordinary enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and insightful responses. Their hard work, preparation, and sincerity truly captured the joy and spirit of the event, leaving all attendees in awe.
The event concluded with a heartfelt expression of appreciation and gratitude from Sri Poornimaji, bringing the successful and inspiring occasion to a close. Sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to making this event a resounding success.
