Nama never forsakes By Sri Gadhadharanji and Sri Jeevanji – Houston Texas

On the afternoon of 10th March 2025, a call was received at Houston Namadwaar from the chaplain of MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas. A patient of Indian origin had requested for a prayer from a Hindu Temple. The patient was suffering from gallbladder cancer and was in the last moments of his life. Sri Gadhadharanji and Sri Jeevanji from our Houston Namadwaar immediately rushed to the hospital. The patient’s family members requested for a prayer session for his peaceful passing. They prayed for him by chanting Gajendra Stuti and Mahamantra Kirtan.

After the prayer session while speaking with the patient’s daughter, much to their astonishment, they came to know that the patient had an inclination towards Mahamantra kirtan. She mentioned that lately her father (patient) had been writing a lot of Nama and was in fact afraid of being reborn after this life.

The city of Houston has more than 50 temples. The chaplain could have called any of those temples. Our temple getting the call for the prayer justifies that Bhagavan Nama itself connects to the right people. Further, this proves how Bhagavan showers His compassion on his bhaktas at the most essential moment. This further shows that even the tiniest amount of time we spend in Bhagavat seva shall definitely be acknowledged by Him.

This incident reminds of this sloka from Varaha Puranam –
अहं स्मरामि मद्भक्तं नयामि परमां गतिम्॥
Meaning: Bhagavan assures that He will remember His bhakta at the last moment of his life and bestow him with satgati.
